MotorcycleMate Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mountain Root, LLC ("Mountain Root," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the MotorcycleMate mobile application and related services (the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information We Collect

1) Account Information

• Email address
• Display name (optional)
• Firebase user identifier (UID)

2) User Content

User Content includes motorcycle records, trips, fill-ups, notes, and related metadata such as dates, odometer readings, gallons, miles, and user-entered total cost amounts. We store these values to compute MPG and related statistics. We do not collect payment card or billing information.

3) Identifiers and App Activity

• App/installation identifiers (e.g., Firebase Installations ID)
• Basic app activity and timestamps needed to operate the Service

4) Diagnostics (only if enabled in a future version)

Crash and performance data to improve reliability. If we add a crash/performance SDK, we will update this policy and our App Store privacy disclosure accordingly.

5) Optional In-App Purchases (Tips)

The app may offer optional in-app purchases such as tips. These purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account. We do not receive or store your payment card details or billing information. We may receive limited transaction metadata from Apple (such as confirmation that a purchase occurred) solely to record and honor the tip.

We do not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA) and we do not track users across other companies’ apps or websites.

Public Content and Aggregates

You may choose to mark certain items as public. Public items may be included in leaderboards and aggregated statistics visible to other users. You can change this at any time in the app.

How We Use Information

• Provide core functionality of the Service
• Sync and back up your data across devices
• Operate, maintain, and improve the Service
• Communicate important updates or policy changes
• Provide public leaderboards and aggregates (if you opt in)
• Prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse
• Comply with applicable law

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers (such as Google Firebase), for legal compliance, or in a business transfer.

Tracking and Advertising

• No IDFA use
• No cross-app tracking
• No data brokers
• No precise location collection

Data Retention

We retain data while your account is active. Account deletion removes personal data within a reasonable period, subject to legal obligations.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest via Firebase. No system is absolutely secure.

Children’s Privacy

Not directed to children under 13.

Your Rights

You may access, update, or delete your account data in-app or by contacting us.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time.
